Introduction to Philanthropy
Since 2012, students in the PSL program have partnered with Magnified Giving to award $2,000 each year to deserving non-profits in Northeast Ohio. This lesson begins with the story of Bob's Bugatti to get students to think about the responsibility that comes with having surplus wealth. Next, students will construct a common definition of philanthropy, identify famous philanthropists, ponder the relationship between civic engagement and philanthropy, learn about The Giving Pledge, and view an introduction to the Magnified Giving program.
