PSL Alumni Service Scholarship
Perry Service Learning (PSL) students contribute, on average, 10,000 hours of service per year, helping to build a more caring, tolerant, responsive, and just community. In the process, PSL students develop the skills to answer the question, "What does my community need from me?" Today, PSL alumni work for justice as medical professionals, lawyers, teachers, social workers, journalists, and activists. The PSL Alumni Service Scholarship recognizes one current PSL student who is dedicated to serving their community in the same spirt as the over 1,000 PSL alumni who have participated in the program since its founding in 2005.

PSL Art Buser Memorial Scholarship
The PSL Art Buser Memorial Scholarship honors one current PSL student who is dedicated to serving their community. Art Buser, former director of The Perry Center, was instrumental in building a strong relationship between the Perry Service Learning program and the Perry Center. Under his leadership, the PSL Holiday Food Drive grew exponentially and annually brings in over $3,000 and 3,000 lbs. of food for The Perry Center. Mr. Buser also helped found the Pirate Power Pack program that provides nutritious meals each weekend to over 50 students attending the Perry Public Schools who might otherwise experience food insecurity. Moreover, he was always generous to students and community members in need. He embodied what it means to be a justice oriented citizen.

Bound Angels Memorial Scholarship
On May 24, 2017, Myka Gray and Kayleigh O'Brien lost their lives in a tragic car accident. They were active members of the PSL class of 2016. Their volunteer experiences at C.A.R.E.S. and Perry Elementary School inspired them to pursue degrees in education.
The Bound Angels Memorial Scholarship was created to keep their legacies alive. Each year, two PSL students who are pursuing degrees in education will be awarded with $1, 000 scholarships so that they can complete the work that Myka and Kayleigh began. Like Myka and Kayleigh, the recipients of this scholarship worked to address unmet needs in their community while exhibiting kindness, joy, caring, and selflessness.
