Event: Perry Fall Festival

Details: Volunteers are needed to help supervise kids' activities, support township/rec staff, and host the PSL raffle tent. 
Event: Perry Pirate Youth Duals Wrestling Tournament 
Date: Saturday, December 7, 2019 
Time: any 2+ hour shift between 9am and 4pm 
Location: PAC Fieldhouse

Event: Community Shred Event
Date: Saturday, February 16th, 2019 
Time: 10 am - 2:00 pm

Details: Volunteers needed to help residents take bags/boxes of materials to be shredded out of their cars.  Assistance is also needed to move boxes out of the Township office to be shred.  If you would like to help, please fill out the form below.  If you have questions please contact [email protected] . 
Event: Perry Pirate Youth Duals Wrestling Tournament

Event: PMS Student Council's Knockout Tournament
Date: Tuesday, November 20th 
Time: 3:00pm-4:30pm

Event: Outback Ray Saturday Adventure with the Perry REACH Program 
Date: Saturday, November 17th

Details: Help Perry REACH coordinators create a Saturday Adventure for PES students.  Volunteers needed to help set up the event, greet students, and help supervise activities. 
Event: Perry Bingo
Date: Thursdays beginning October 4th 
Time: 5:00pm-10:00pm

Details: Join volunteers from the Perry Academic Boosters and the Perry community to support the district's weekly bingo program located at Manchester West.  Volunteers must be 18+, and can help out with a variety of events that generate revenue for Perry High School and Perry Middle School.  Contact Mr. Porcello directly if you can help.  Click HERE to find out more about the bingo program.   
Event: Perry Joint Fire District's Halloween Party and Trick or Treat Experience at Manchester West 
Date: Wednesday, October 31st 
Time: 5:30pm-8:30pm

Details: Help the fire fighters and staff members from the Perry Joint Fire District provide a fun and safe Halloween experience for kids in our community.   Volunteers are needed to help with the event (at Manchester West) by passing out candy. Family friendly costumes are encouraged!   
Event:  Run for the Health of It
Date: Sunday, 10/14
Time: 7:30am-11:30am

Details:  Teen volunteers are needed to assist with directing and cheering on runners around the trail, helping with family activities, serving refreshments, etc.  The event will be held rain or shine, and volunteers will get free t-shirts and refreshments.  To sign up, please complete THIS form and turn in to Mr. Soeder or Mrs. Trentanelli. 
Event:Cincinnati Plunge
Date: Monday, 9/24 - Tuesday, 9/25
Time: Depart PHS at 8 a.m. on 9/24.  Return to PHS by 11 pm. on 9/25.

Details:   7 PSL students will attend a service learning workshop at the University of Cincinnati and have the opportunity to volunteer at a homeless shelter, soup kitchen, and after school program for youth in the inner city.
Event: Project SALES 
Date: monthly leadership meetings (9/18, 10/18, 12/6, 1/31) and a service trip to Virginia from 12/31-1/4. 
Time: varies depending on date and location 
Contact: Julie Ramos, Director of Strategic Innovation at Wickliffe City Schools 
Details: The mission of Project SALES is to provide an educational experience for high school students in Lake and Geauga Counties that allows them to explore local issues that impact them and their community, as well as how these issues fit into the larger context of the state of Ohio and beyond.  Participants will attend several days of leadership training that included: team-building, networking, service leadership, and strategic planning with a focus on solving a local issue or concern.  In addition, students will create an action plan to tackle a community project and present the results to different boards of area organizations that supported their endeavors.  Lastly, the students will attend a week long service project in Jonesville, Virginia, where they will  assist the local population in necessary home improvements.

Date: Saturday,  August 26th and Sunday, August 27th 
Time: 12noon-8:00pm (Saturday) and 12:30-4:00pm (Sunday)

Details:   High school volunteers are needed to help make this year's Perry Community Days a success.  Student volunteers may help with games and activities.  A sign up sheet will be available in the PSL Classroom beginning Tuesday, August 22nd.   

Event: Vietnam Moving Wall at Perry High School 
Date: Thursday, September 21st through Sunday, September 24th

Event: Lake Health Free Health Fair

Event:Lake Metroparks' Halloween Fright Site Creation

Event:  Myka & Kayleigh Corn Hole Tournament Scholarship Fundraiser
Date: Saturday, October 14th, 2017
Time: Noon-2:30 p.m.

Details:   Students are asked to form a team (2 people) and participate in this corn hole tournament to raise money for the Myka & Kayleigh Bound Angels Scholarship!  Myka and Kayleigh were PSL all-stars who volunteered with children at CARES and PES.  Please help keep their memory alive by supporting this event.  Registration starts at noon and the event should be starting before 1! It is $20 per person and there will be some great prizes to win!!! 
Event: Lake County Free Clinic Run for the Health of It
Date: Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 7:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
Location: ​Lake Erie Bluffs, Lane Road Shelter (Perry, Ohio)

Details:   Teen volunteers are needed to assist with race directions and encouragement on and around the trail, family activities, refreshments, set-up/tear-down help, and more.  Event will be held rain or shine.  Volunteers should be able to walk, sit, and stand for periods.  Volunteers will get t-shirts and refreshments.  Moreover, volunteers will be helping to raise funds to provide quality healthcare to those who could not afford or access it elsewhere.  Click HERE for the teen volunteer application.

Event:  Lake County High School Senior Precinct Election Official (PEO) Program
Date:  Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 6:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. plus mandatory 2 hour training.
Location:  Lake County polling location to be determined.

Description:  The Lake County Board of Elections is looking for high school seniors to serve as precinct election officials on election day.  All high school seniors in good standing with their school and who are at least 17 years old are eligible to participate by filling out an application form.  Students who are selected will earn $150.00 minimum for attending the training and working on election day.  Students interested in using this activity may donate 1/2 of their earnings to the PSL program.  Or, if students prefer, they can keep all of their earnings and not use this activity for extra hours.  Please see Mr. Soeder or Mrs. Trentanelli for an application.  Applications are due October 9th.

Event: Tim Tebow Foundation's Night to Shine

Details: Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom experience for people ages 14 and up with special needs.  PSL volunteers will serve as a prom "buddy," ensuring each and every attendee has an incredible prom experience.

Event:  NAMI Lake County Strides for Awareness Walk
Date:  Saturday, August 19, 2017

Details: Join NAMI Lake County for their 9th Annual Strides for Awareness Walk to raise funds and awareness for those whose lives are affected by mental illness.  Check-in at 9 a.m. Walk begins at 10 a.m.  Participants will walk 2.3 miles along Mentor's scenic bike path.  No fee to walk but donations are appreciated.  The walk is family, child, and pet friendly and includes a KidsZone with fun activities.  Register by calling 440-639-1200 or go to www.nailakecountyohio.org

Event:  PMS Dodgeball Tournament
Date:  **RESCHEDULED** Friday, March 24th, 2017
Time: 2:45pm-5:30pm

Details: The 6th Annual Dodgeball Tournament for students in grades 6-8 will take place in the Middle School Gym. Volunteers are needed to assist with set-up, officiating, keeping balls in play, and clean-up.  
Event: Perry Rec "Little Dribblers" Program 
Date:  Wednesdays and Thursdays February 15th through March 30th and Saturday March 25th 
Time:  5:30pm-7:30pm (Tues/Thurs) and 9:15-12noon (Saturday)

Details: Perry Rec needs volunteers for this preschool-kindergarten program that introduces young athletes to the fundamentals of team play and very introductory basketball skills. 
Event:  Perry PTA's K-4 Pajama Party 
Date: Friday, March 10th, 2017
Time: 6:15pm-7:00pm for set up, 7:00pm-9:00PM to facilitate game stations

Details: PSL volunteers are needed to help set up for the pajama party, and to facilitate games ( Minute to Win It, etc) for the young participants.  Volunteers are encouraged to wear pajamas, too! 
Event: Perry Rec Basketball Games

Event:The Chrysalis Adventure's Fall Friendraiser 
Date: Friday, November 4th 
Time: 4pm-7pm (set up) and 7:30pm-9:30pm (clean up)

Details:   The Chrysalis Adventure is a Perry non-profit that provides therapeutic experiences with horses.  Student volunteers are needed at the "friendraiser" which will help community members understand how facilitated experiences with horses are changing lives.  Food and treats will be provided to attendees and volunteers! 
Event:3rd Grade Potato Harvest
Date: Thursday, September 8th and Thursday, September 15th 
Time: 1:25-2:45pm

Details:   Working alongside students from Mrs. Pietra-Freeman's and Mrs. Perry's third grade classes, PSL volunteers will harvest potatoes for the Perry Center.   Volunteers will also have the opportunity to support the third graders as they conduct research in the Giving Garden.  Students may not miss their Block 6 class ​to participate in this event.
