Lesson Four: Student led Socratic discussion
This lesson affords students the opportunity to lead a Socratic discussion with a small group of peers regarding the song for social change of their choice. The purpose of these discussions is two fold: 1.) students will practice analyzing instrumentation, rhythm/groove, lyrics, imagery, and symbolic language to decipher the meaning of a song. 2.) students will construct knowledge through thoughtful questioning that will inform and enrich the exhibits that they create and their upcoming classroom presentations.
