Agency description: The Lake County YMCA Central Branch provides a variety of programming to both children and adults. In addition to being a state licensed daycare facility and preschool for kids three to six years old, the Central YMCA offers aquatics and fitness classes.
Job descriptions: The Lake County YMCA Central Branch seeks two to four student volunteers. Under the direction of the Sports Director, Sports Instructor is responsible for the conduct of sports instruction using the YMCA Super Sports method of game-centered learning, while ensuring the safety of all students at all times. - Maintain attendance and skills accomplishment records.
- Assist in Teaching / monitoring sports classes, leagues, and/or camps
- Dress appropriately for duty. (YMCA will provide t-shirts)
- Report for work 15 minutes prior to start of shift.
- Follow prepared lesson plans and have equipment to be used during class prepared before the start of class.
- Compile Stats and run scoreboard for varies leagues
- Know the YMCA emergency procedures and location of emergency equipment.
- Start and end class on time.
- Find own substitutes if unable to teach a class and notify supervisor of the change.
- Recognize and report suspected child abuse to supervisor.
- Serve as a good role model demonstrating positive values and safe behavior.
- Relate to parents by giving feedback.
