Volunteer Interview PreparationSeveral representatives will be visiting from local nonprofits and organizations to recruit PSL volunteers. You will have the opportunity to interview in small groups with at least 5 of representatives. Historically, this has been a fun day that allows students to learn more about some of the assets that exist in our community. In fact, many student request to volunteer with one of the organizations that they interviewed with.
Prior to the volunteer matching event, please complete the questionnaire. Your responses will be carefully analyzed to ensure that you only interview with organizations that match your availability and interests. Students will also be asked to create/update their resume and bring 7 copies to distribute to volunteer directors who attend the volunteer fair. |
Participating Organizations
The individuals listed below will present information about their organizations and the volunteer opportunities they have available in class using a volunteer speed matching format. Students will travel in small groups to each representative and spend five minutes learning about the assets that exist in our community and how they can help address unmet needs through volunteering.
Resume Writing Tips
You are required to leave a copy of your resume with each interviewer. Ideally, this should be a one page snapshot highlighting your skills, experience, education and interests. In addition to helping the interviewer remember who you are, it will also provide them with useful contact information should they decide to follow up with you.
If you have never written a resume before, we recommend using this template. If you already have a resume, take this opportunity to update the document with any new experiences, awards, and/or accomplishments.
