1.) Write out Shel Silverstein's poem "The Little Boy and the Old Man."
2.) Working with a classmate, analyze the poem. Consider examining the following questions as part of your analysis: What "strong words" does the poet choose to include? What words/phrases stand out to you, and why might the poet have used them? What images does the poem generate? Are there any comparisons you might draw when considering this poem? What message might the poet be attempting to send? How might this poem relate to your service experiences?
