Rating Non-profit Organizations
Philanthropists invest money, time, and/or services in a charitable organization over an extended period of time with a defined objective and expect to see a return on their investment. This lesson is designed to get student committees to think critically about the non-profits that they may invest in by evaluating their results, financial health, and transparency. Although many charities are good stewards of donor dollars, there are some non-profits where very little of the money ends up benefiting those it was intended for.
