Lesson 3: Selecting agencies to apply for the grant
The lesson begins with a parable designed to help students understand the difference between charity and justice. This will provide students with a framework for evaluating the nonprofits that were nominated by members of their committee. Next, students will meet with their committees, carefully listen to presentations on each nonprofit that is nominated, ask critical questions, and ultimately rank each organization. The two agencies receiving the highest overall score from each committee will be invited to move on to the next round and complete a grant application.
