Service requirement: 2 hours per week Agency description: Lifeline, Inc. helps Lake County residents by providing them assistance and life skills programming that is designed to increase self-sufficiency. It is Lifeline’s mission to help Lake County’s low-income residents break the cycle of poverty and make the transition to self-sufficiency. The agency-wide motto is ‘first to help, then to teach.’ Job description: Lifeline seeks student volunteers to perform office support functions and assist the Executive Director, Health Coordinator, and Housing Coordinator in delivering programming and fulfilling the agency’s mission. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as familiarity with the operation of fax machines, copiers, and office telephone systems a plus. Students will assist with agency mailings, schedule appointments for agency staff, provide information and referrals to individuals seeking assistance, enter and update customer information in agency database, and perform other tasks as the position evolves. Opportunities also exist to aid in local fundraising, including web layout and design, soliciting donations via telephone contact, and assisting with event set up. Lifeline in the NewsLifeline, Inc.
