Accomodations for people with special needs
In addition to developing a simulation that raises awareness about a physical, cognitive, neurological, or specific learning disability, your presentation should include information about the accomodations, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology available to people with special needs. This lesson is designed to help you recognize the potential barriers that people with special needs face and identify appropriate accomodations designed to provide access to major life activities. After hearing from a Perry Local Schools intervention specialist, you will amend your simulation proposal to include specifc accomodations, and visit an interactive website that affords you the opportunity to consider appropriate responses for a variety of learning disabilities.
