Service times: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Service requirement: 2 hours per week Agency description: Congressman Joyce's District Office helps the more than 600,000 constituents in the 14th Congressional District navigate the federal government with problems ranging from Social Security to Medicare. The office is also responsible for being the liaison with civic leaders and business community. And finally, the office provides assistance to the 119 local communities in the district with a variety of issues ranging from infrastructure to grant requests. Job description: Congressman Joyce's office is in need of one (1) student volunteer to assist with the day to day operations of the office. Student volunteers will assist with general office work. There may also be the opportunity to shadow Congressman LaTourette as he tours the 14th Congressional District and sit in on some meetings. The district office in Painesville has recently added a full time intern work station which promises to improve the overall work environment and get volunteers involved in more things. |
